System Overview

The system consists of an 800-kW PCS power supply, a 710-kW three-phase motor controller, and an 800-kW twelve-phase motor controller. The main circuit of the motor test platform is powered by a three-phase 380-V supply. The rectifier module in the PCS power supply converts the AC voltage into a continuously adjustable intermediate DC voltage ranging from 500 to 700 V DC. This intermediate DC voltage is then distributed via a common DC bus to both the twelve-phase programmable frequency converter and the three-phase frequency converter, providing them with the necessary operating power. During the permanent-magnet motor load testing, the twelve-phase permanent-magnet motor is driven by the twelve-phase frequency converter and operated in speed-control mode, while the accompanying three-phase induction motor is driven by the three-phase frequency converter and operated in torque-control mode. The electrical energy generated by the accompanying motor is fed back to the DC bus through the three-phase frequency converter and then output again via the twelve-phase frequency converter to circulate and be reused by the tested permanent-magnet motor. The grid compensation system assists in offsetting the losses incurred by the operating equipment.
